| Because of their size and bulk, it might be difficult to press roses and still have them maintain their shape. If it's an unopened rosebud, you might have success just placing it between papertowels (to absorb moisture) and putting it on a flat surface, then placing a few heavy books on top. If you want to keep the blossom intact and help preserve its shape and some of its color, silica gel might be the answer. You can purchase silica gel in craft stores. Put a layer on the bottom of an airtight container, put your rose in, and cover it with additional silica gel. The moisture will be drawn out of the flower and it will retain its shape and a bit of its color. Either way, you'll be able to preserve at least the memory of the flowers. |
