Are there any plants that I can plant in my garden that grasshoppers will avoid. I have a mint plant and they seem to leave it alone. What flowers would work?

Sorry for the long delay with my reply! They probably stay away from the mint because of the strong aromatic oils in the leaves. Hot pepper wax spray is often effective for the same reason. I haven't been able to find any lists of grasshopper resistant plants, other than sorghum. I wonder if you mixed a little mint oil with water and a tiny drop of soap (as a spreader/sticker), you could spray it on other plants as a repellent? If you want to try hot pepper wax, it's available from Gardener's Supply Co., www.gardeners.com, 800-863-1700. Best of luck!
