The Q&A Archives: Petunias

Question: The first petunias I planted in my windowboxes did real well and lasted a long time. The last two times I have planted them they die almost immediately. Can you give me any tips?

Answer: If you've had success with petunias in the windowbox before, you can rightfully expect them to thrive again. I wonder if the soil needs rejuvinating? Try emptying the windowbox into a wheelbarrow, breaking the soil up, and adding some fresh potting soil or compost. Then refill the windowbox and plant new petunias. Hope this fixes the problem!
