| Night-blooming jasmine is not really jasmine, but Cestrum nocturnum, an evergreen shrub with showy, tubular flowers which are powerfully fragrant, especially at night. The shrub is native to the West Indies and can grow to about 12' in your gardening region. You can grow yours in a container, gradually repotting every 2-3 years into a slightly larger pot. Depending upon the size plant you purchase, you can repot into a decorative container when you first get it and then plan to repot 2-3 years later. Roots coming out of the drainage holes in the bottom of the pot, slowed growth and yellowing leaves are indications that the plant is rootbound and needs to be repotted. |
