| Some gourds just naturally are flat on the bottom, but if you're growing bottle gourds, you can just set them upright on the soil surface and the bottom should flatten out as the gourd grows. Do this early in the season while the gourds are still tender. If you wait until they're almost mature, they will continue to grow a round bottom. |
