Wood hyacinth bulbs should also be planted as soon as possible so that they stay plump and do not dry out excessively. Wood hyacinths (Hyacinthoides) are unusual spring bulbs in that they prefer a woodsy location in partial dappled shade. A moist but not soggy site with moderately rich soil is good.
