The Q&A Archives: Encouraging Daffodils to Bloom

Question: I have daffodil bulbs which grow foliage only. They do not bloom. What should I do to get them to bloom again?

Answer: Flowering requires a substantial outlay of energy. It may be that the bulbs have been stressed and are trying to increase the total area of foliage so that photosynthesis can be increased. I would suggest that you fertilize and give the bulbs a regularwatering during the growing season.
