| To start, when you shuck the corn, start at the tip end of the ear and grab the silks along with the shuck. Pull downward to remove husks and most of the silks. For the silks that remain, hand pick them while the ear is still dry. Once you wet the ear, the silks tend to lie up against the kernels more and are more difficult to find and grasp. Some corn aficionados report that silks can be easily removed by using a dampened toothbrush and brushing downward. |
