| It would be best to remove the roots, or at least a major portion of the root mass. Junipers that have been established for sometime will probably send out new sprouts if the main plant is cut back. Besides, removing the roots will give you an opportunity to amend the soil, providing a loose, rich soil to the roots of your new plants. This will help them become firmly established in their new homes. |
