Perennial Hibiscus, or Rose-Mallow, has oval, toothed leaves that are deep green above and whitish beneath. The stems are half-round and fluted at the tip. Tropical Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) has glossy dark green foliage and round stems. Flowers are similar on both, and come in a wide range of colors. Hope this helps!
