I'd like to plant a small garden for fall. I am wondering if there are some good seed choices that grow and bloom quickly that thrive in the late summer and pre-frost fall days. I am currently growing a vegetable garden, but wouldn't mind some fall color along with my harvest. |
Unfortunately most annuals take 8 to 10 weeks to bloom and that time frame will increase a bit since this is fall planting rather than spring. You might find that sweet alyssum, violas and johnny jump ups will bloom well into the fall for you if you plant them now. Ten week stock might also bloom albeit briefly and although the flowers are not too fancy the evening fragrance is excellent. |
