The Q&A Archives: Waterlily Propagation

Question: I have a waterlily plant in a whisky-barrel pond and I want to propogate some more plants. How should I go about this?

Answer: You can divide water lilies in the very early spring or in the fall after the plants go dormant. Simply unpot and divide the root mass, leaving both stem and root growth on each division. Then pot the divisions up and watch them grow!
