The Q&A Archives: Transplanting Fruit Trees

Question: When is the best time to transplant the following fruit trees: grapefruit(Texas red), pomegranate, Granny Smith apple.

Answer: Trees and shrubs benefit from being transplanted in the cooler spring and fall months, rather than in the summer (when it's convenient for the gardener!). In Southern California you can plant during the winter months, as well. After transplanting be sure to supply water on a weekly basis, all year around, until your trees become established.
