The Q&A Archives: Plants Around the Pool

Question: We have just installed an in-ground swimming pool and need to re-landscape around it. What are some ideal plants that won't be killed by the chlorine in the pool? We like conifers and also lots of greenery. Thanks. Jan Robinson Roseville, CA

Answer: I don't think you need to worry about the effect of chlorine on poolside plants. Unless large quantities of water are going to be splashed out of the pool and around the roots and on the foliage. Plant whatever you want..and Enjoy!
