How do you care for the sunflowers after they bloom?? When they begin to die should I cut the flower off and if so, how far back? I have Pacino Sunflowers..they are 18 inches high and have multiple blossoms.. Thanks, Lori |
Cutting off the spent blooms will help make the plants look tidier and may encourage additional blooming, but it will also remove the seedheads -- these are a big attraction for the birds later in the season so you may want to keep them. When you cut, cut only a much as you need to in order to make the plant look tidy. |
