What would make my waterlily leaves stand up above the water? The leaves are 6 - 8 inches above the water, but the blooms are ON the water where they belong, which is the problem! These plants have been in this location for about four years and this is the first time they haven't behaved as a proper waterlily should.

Usually, this is an indication that they are crowded and need to be divided and repotted. This is usually done in the spring about every other year; it's amazing how fast they fill in their allotted space!
