I am looking for a source of poppy seed so that I can sow them this fall. I am on Burpee mailing list but don't receive catalog early enough.

Burpee will ship seed any time so you might wish to call Burpee direct to verify availability for shipping now. The direct number is 800-888-1447. The fall catalog also includes Oriental poppy plants so you might ask about them when you call if that's what you are looking for. Also, most gardeners find that it works quite well to order all of their seeds in the spring and save them in a cool dry place as needed for fall planting. (Inside a tightly closed jar or plastic bag in the refrigerator works well for this.) Good luck with your poppies!
