The Q&A Archives: Size of Green Beans

Question: How large will green bean plants grow? What is the average weight/length of a green bean? Aaron Didich Bellefontaine, OH

Answer: You can plant either bush varities or pole varities of green beens. The bush varities will grow three to four feet tall and the pole varities will grow to the height of the poles you use to support them. The size of the green bean depends on the variety you are growing. The tastiest are small and tender as they grow larger they get tougher. Most bush green beans are about 7-8" in length, while pole varieties can get even larger. You can always pick them smaller too.
