| Acidanthera is not winter hardy in zone 4, so you will have to bring them indoors after frost. Once frost has killed back the tops, dig them up (leave the tops on) and put them in a paper bag or cardboard box. Store them in a cool and dry but not freezing location. In the spring about March or April, remove the leaves, soak in water overnight and then replant in pots to give them a head start on the season. This is a good idea because they take about four months to bloom. Otherwise, plant them outdoors when the ground has warmed up. |
