We live in zone 4, which actually borders on zone 5; when and what do I do to prepare my Yucca (yucca filamentosa) for winter?

Yucca is quite a hardy plant with tough sword-shaped leaves that generally live through the winter without problem. Cut back any flower stalk and then just leave the plant alone. If the foliage is damaged by winter weather you can prune it back in early spring in preparation for new growth.
