Question: What would be the best type of tomato to grow for the purpose of making tomato sauce?

Answer: Generally serious cooks prefer the "paste" type tomatoes such as Viva Italia because they have a better texture for canning, making sauces and ketchup and so on, but I have made sauce for immediate use out of all kinds of tomatoes and they tasted fine to me.
