Dividing Purple Liatris - Knowledgebase Question

I have quite a few Purple Liatris that have gotten so large that I would like to divide them up and move them to other areas. Am I able to do this and, if so, when is the best time of year to do this?

The clumps of corms can be divided in early fall. They are best replanted immediately.
