I would like to grow pumpkins for carving for Halloween with my kids. We live in south Florida (zone 10 or 11) and I am unsure of when to plant and what kind of pumpkins to plant. I don't need a huge crop maybe just 4 or 5. Is this doable? Thanks for any help you could give.

In South Florica, you should plant pumpkin seed in either January through February or August through September. To have them ready for carving in October, plant some early in the year, then cure and store them for next Halloween.

Have fun!
