The Q&A Archives: Roses for Containers

Question: I live in Zone 7 and am new to roses. I would like to plant some roses in some large pots on my balcony. What kind do you suggest for a beginner that will need minimal specialized care? Debbie Brickey Arlington, VA

Answer: The best roses for pots on a balcony would be miniatures. They are the easiest to care for and still give you flowers all summer. Some varieties to look for are 'Whoopi', 'Sparks', and 'Tropical Twist'. All available locally or from, Nor'EastMiniature Roses P.O. Box 307 Rowley, MA 01969 508-948-7964
