Answer: If you actually want lawn, you could try ordinary grass and keep it trimmed. Since this is indoors, you might look at any number of houseplants such as Kenilworth ivy, baby's tears and creeping fig, assorted cactus, "living stones" and other succulents as well as the mini African violets. These would probably need to be potted separately to accommodate their differing soil requirements and then the pots hidden beneath pebbles or some other camouflage. Since this is indoors, your best bet will be to comb the tropical/houseplant sections for possibilities, and then be prepared to replace the plants if they get too big. Alternatively you might consider a terrarium or "Edwardian case" which would allow a bit more space but also a slightly wider choice of plants. Have fun with your project!
