The Q&A Archives: Cross-Pollinating Pear Varieties for Summercrisp'

Question: I received a Summercrisp' pear tree for Fathers Day last year and was wondering if it is self- pollinating or not. If not what is a good pollinator? Jody Fink Ellsworth, WI

Answer: All pears require cross-pollination for fruiting. You might want to consider planting another pear variety with your 'Summercrisp' such as 'Seckel' or 'Bosc'.
