Several years ago I planted a hedge called Wall of China. This shrub is fast growing, 5 feet per year, and is easily maintained at any desired height. I would like to purchase and plant more, but can not find correct catalog from which to order. Can you help?

You may be looking for Ballota pseudodictamnus. This group consists of perennials and deciduous subshrubs that are found in the Mediterranean region and western Asia. B. pseudodictamnus forms clumps of succulent greenish-white stems that are clothed with evergreen, oval, grayish-green leaves. The entire plant is covered with a thick, grayish-white down. It grows 24 inches per year and spreads about 3 feet. Its white or pale pink flowers are small, tubular and 2-lipped.

If so, you can order from Island Nursery, 8797 Chemainus Road, RR1, Chemainus, BC. Phone 250-246-9355.
