The Q&A Archives: Planting Flowers for an August Wedding

Question: I am getting married at the end of August and wanted to grow different varieties of flowers for our outdoor wedding. Could you recomend some late bloomers that are easy to grow? The color scheme is white/ivory/crimson/navy. I was mainly looking for white and crimson flowers. Thank you for your help! Michele Landis Quakertown, PA

Answer: Some nice annuals to grow for an August wedding are cosmos, lavatera, sunflowers and zinnias. For pernnials try rudbeckia, asters and roses. Talk to a local nurseryman about other ideas. Congratulations!!!
