Poison ivy plants may take several forms from vine to seedling, groundcover to shrubby, but the old saying of "leaves of three, leave it be" applies to them all. In vine form the vine is very "hairy" and that is a good identifying characteristic even during winter when there are no leaves. The page http://www.dermik.com/skin/ras... includes photos of the rash and the plant.
