We have these small dark round spots on our plants. They are also appearing on our vinyl siding, concrete porch, wooden posts, rock wall, and now our cars. I thought they were scales but why would they be appearing on items that they can't get any nutrients from? Do you have any idea what they could be and how would I get rid of them.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have artillery fungus. Here is the url to an article about it from Penn State: http://aginfo.psu.edu/news/jul... and another one with photos: http://www.cas.psu.edu/docs/CA... There is not much you can do to control it, but you might contact your County Extension (344-1234) to see if they have any suggestions.
