Are there certain types of kohlrabi that you can pick a little larger and have less of a chance of being woody?

Burpee offers 'Kossak Hybrid' an 8-10 inch kolhrabi that they describe as "always tender, with sweet, delicate flavor." You can order it online. Also, in "Vegetable Gardening for Dummies," Charlie Nardozzi recommends 'Superschmelz' as a football-sized kohrabi that stays tender and doesn't get woody. I hope one of these works for you!
