| I'm looking for a hanging plant with long straight vines. The long straight hairlike vines have small round green-purple leaves(1cm) that attach only to the long stringy nonbranching stems. The flowers of the vines are lavender in color, trumpetlike and very small. At the root of the plant above the soil are small round potatolike bulbs where the stringy vines grow out of. I do not know the scientific name of this vinelike plant but the common name maybe angel's hair vine. Could you please send me the scientific and the common names of this plant. |
| You may be describing Ceropegia woodii. The wiry stems grow about 3' long, and the sparse leaves are green on the upper side and purple underneath. There are two common names for the plant; String of Hearts and Rosary Vine. Ceropegia is often grown as a houseplant, or outdoors in mild-winter climates. |
