My wife notice fruitflies around some of the fruit on our table. She asked me if fruitflies come from the fruit which is over ripen? Can you please tell me where do fruitflies come from?

Fruit flies are attracted to ripe and over-ripe fruit and can certainly be brought into the home with the fruit from the grocery store. They may also find their way in through open doors and even through screens. If there is a problem with fruit flies you may discover a forgotten piece of fruit somewhere in your kitchen -- perhaps rolled off the counter and now unnoticed behind the refrigerator or in some similar spot. Disposing of the old culprit should solve the problem.
