The Q&A Archives: Resource for Information on Growing Melons

Question: I live in central Florida and am growing cantelope (Burpee Ambrosia'). Is there any special disease or insect I need to be on the look out for? Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks. Betty Jo Weber Land O' Lakes, FL

Answer: Melons have many diseases and insects that could affect them. Instead of listing them here, I'd suggest you contact your local County Extension Office (521-4288) for information on growing melons in Florida. They often have fact sheets on raising different crops including melons.
