My iochroma is infested with a small (quarter inch) black insect with barbs. The bug does not seem to be bothering my other plants. I try to use natural controls in my garden. What is the insect? Can you recomend something organic which will eliminate it?

If the insect is a beetle, it may very well be a Spider Beetle (Ptinidae). They are quite common and a strong spray of water from the hose should dislodge them. Since we don't know positively what they are, I'd avoid using insecticides against them.

Some organic compounds useful against beetles include pyrethrum or rotenone, but they, too, have their disadvantages.
