A friend of mine has a problem with stink bugs invading her home every winter. She has pets and we were wondering if there is a safe way to rid the house of these pests. They are everywhere.

To be honest I have never encountered a problem with stink bugs in the home although I have seen terrible boxelder and lady bug infestations indoors. Usually the best thing you can do is try to caulk and close off all points of entry to the home -- the insects can slip throught the tiniest cracks between siding and foundation, along the eaves, and so on. You might also be able to reduce their numbers if you can locate the nearest congregation spot outdoors. You might want to contact the County Extension for their most up to date control recommendations. Their number in Lycoming County is 327-2350).
