| I have several varieties of geraniums, was wondering if any of them would produce seed. If so where would I find them and what time of year? |
| Geraniums do produce seeds. You'll find them after the petals fall and the ovary has a chance to mature. Look for a swollen pod where a flower once was. You can also start new plants from stem cuttings, or even from individual leaves. Simply take the top 4"-5" of a stem, strip the leaves, cut the stem into sections so each section has an old leaf scar, allow the cut ends to dry for a day or two, then lay sideways on top of moistened potting soil or sand and cover just the ends, leaving the leaf scar above soil level. New leaves will sprout from the old leaf scar once the cutting has rooted. |
