The Q&A Archives: Shrubs for Moist

Question: My mother is looking for a shrub to grow in a moist, shady area. She would like for the shrub to be attractive to birds and provide some shelter for them. What would you suggest? She lives in Enid, OK which is in zone 6. Thank you. Mary Long Optima, OK

Answer: As long as it is not total shade, but gets 4 hours of sun a day, then try growing Amelanchier, Cornus alba, Symphoricarpus and viburnum. Check your local nursery for trypes of these shrubs to grow in your area.
