| Over the course of the season, my straightneck yellow squash have ripened with odd, uneven coloring. Earlier this summer, some had green spots, and others were mostly green. Now my late crop of squash out of the same seed are all yellow like they're supposed to be. What's going on? |
| Uneven color is usually due to cool or inconsistent weather conditions at ripening. There's usually nothing wrong with the crop and not much you can do other than provide consistent soil moisture, or perhaps regulate temperatures with row covers. |
