It's 10/10/99 and the remaining 8 pumpkins are half way mature (green & orange in color). Any way I can 'push' the ripening process for Halloween?
The pumpkins are still on the vine and vines are dying.
We have had to light frost that really have not hit the garden because it is protected by buildings on three sides.

About the best thing I can think of is to use floating row covers to try to keep them going longer by insulating them a bit from the cold nights. Apart from that, cross your fingers. Next year, you might want to try a faster maturing variety, too.
