Can I take cuttings from a pussy willow now in the fall or should I wait till spring I want to propagate some new bushes and what is the best way to propagate them.

I have had excellent luck taking cuttings in late winter and early spring; rooting has occurred very quickly. You may even find that branches cut for the catkin display will root in the vase -- this is a plant that wants to grow! According to Michael Dirr's Manual of Woody Landscape Plants, willow cuttings root readily whether hardwood or softwood at any time of year.
