The Q&A Archives: Starting Primula Seeds

Question: I want to start primula seeds, and would use a basement where the temperature averages about 60 degrees. Do I have to expose the seeds to colder conditions than this for success? P. Conlin Taconic CT

Answer: Primula seeds like air temperatures around 70F and light for best germination. You may consider starting yours in the upstairs in the main house, instead of the basement.
