The Q&A Archives: Drying Flowers

Question: When I am drying flowers, I would like to know the best way to keep my beautiful flowers as close to their real color as possible.

Answer: Most of them will dull somewhat no matter what you do, but the most important thing is to keep them out of direct sunlight. Some people find that colors preserve better when they use silica rather than air dry their flowers. Finally, some folks will enhance the natural color with paint or dye.
