My crepe myrtles have pretty much stopped blooming. What happens to them in the winter months in zone 9? What do I have to do to protect them? |
Crape myrtles are hardy in your area, although some dieback may occur. Rake up any leaf litter so there's less chance of insects overwintering. Then apply a mulch layer around the root area. Prune if needed during the plant's dormancy at the end of winter just before new growth starts. |
