| The secret to effective (and reduced chemical use) birch borer control is really in the timing, so you might wish to contact your local UMASS Extension for the most up-to-date recommendations for your local area. They should also be able to help you verify whether or not the problem is truly borers rather than something else which would possibly be controlled by yet another method or on a different schedule.
