| I don't know what the name of the bush is, but I've been trying to find it for years. My Parents use to grow them from very small seeds. My mom called them mexican fire bushes, but from what Ive seen, I dont think thats correct. They are very frilly bushes soft to the touch and are a light yellowish green color and grow to about 3ft. tall. They grow in almost an egg shape and take full sun. They don't really have leaves, but soft spike like. {almost like an asparagus furn, but much longer} In the Fall they turn red and drop their seeds. If planted in a row they almost look like a hedge. Any ideas? |
| I believe you are describing an old fashioned plant called Kochia scoparia trichophila otherwise known as fire bush, burning bush, summer cypress and belvedere. It is truly dramatic when it turns red in the fall! |
