How does the bush bean plant Phaseolus vulgaris reproduce? Is it self pollinating, does it cross pollinate, or what?

Beans are generally self-pollinating, though cross-pollination can sometimes occur if certain pollinating insects are present. However, self-pollination usually occurs before the flower even opens.
