| After a late start I have 15" ferns approaching frost. I never thinned from original tight seed sowing. Should I thin the plants when preparing the bed for winter? |
| In the long run the plants will grow better if they are properly spaced so as to allow them room. (Mature asparagus plants are huge.) I think I would wait until next spring and then thin them. That way you could eat the thinnings -- or transplant them. |
