I have just planted 20 of your raspberry plants. I am wondering if I need to protect them somehow from deer or rabbits or other pests? We do not live near these plants during the winter months. Please advise.

In my experience the critters do not bother raspberry canes in the winter, but you might want to check with your neighbors and see if the deer have been a problem. Unfortunately, deer tend to have localized tastes and I would not rule it out. In any case, I would mulch them with a thick layer of organic mulch such as shredded bark and cut them back to about three feet (if not already done) for the first winter.
