I live in north New Jersey, I'm the first time purchaser of winter pansies that I've planted in outside windowboxes and would like to know the correct time watering regimen for the fall and winter months.

Check the soil with your finger and see if it is moist -- pansies like a moist yet well drained soil, meaning not soggy. As the weather cools (and it rains from time to time) you will need to water less and less often, probably not at all during the winter months. In the spring as the weather warms you will need to water more often again. Enjoy your pansies!
